history

2400Silverhawk Boats was started in 1995 by Bob Seidelmann who was well known for building Seidelmann Sail Boats and Pacemaker Yachts.  During the early 1990's with the recession and the institution of the luxury tax, Pacemaker was forced to close it's doors.  Bob was a talented and determined boat builder and wanted to start building a high quality center console boat with a dry stable ride.  The only boat that came to mind was a Sea craft.  Bob took a 23' Sea craft hull, added length/flare and modified the chines and the new Silverhawk was born.  The first 24' hit the water in 1995.  In late 1997 Jeff & Scott Jastrzembski (now partners' with Frank D'Agostino of JD Marine Group,LLC), bought the Topaz molds from bankrupt OMC Marine and partnered with Bob to redesign the well known Topaz Yachts.  The new Topaz's were being built in the same building as Silverhawk from 1997-2005.  Bob past away and Jeff & Scott left Topaz in 2003.  The new owner of Topaz leased the building and Silverhawk 24' molds.  There were about 12 Silverhawk boats built under the Topaz name when Topaz was sold again in 2005.  The Silverhawk molds sat empty for the first time in 10 years.  There were about 100 original Silverhawk boats built.

In mid 2006, Jeff & Scott teamed up with Frank D'Agostino an avid power boat racer and entrepreneur. They had one goal in mind, to build a high end tournament boat, that not only looked great, but was fast, dry, and stable.  But they needed a place to build them and that brought them back to Siedleman's building, where they found the Silverhawk molds still sitting.  Knowing the great reputation of the Silverhawk, they bought the molds and started JD Marine Group, LLC.  The first 24' Silverhawk hit the Boat Shows on January 2007.  Since then JD Marine has engineered 5 high quality new models, which are built with pride and customized especially for you.
